1. Agreeing to these terms
Finchly is a mobile study companion for students and working students. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree with them, please stop using Finchly.
If you are under 18, use Finchly with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian, or your school.
2. Your account
You can sign up with an email address and password, or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for everything that happens under your account.
Give us accurate details when you register, and keep them up to date. One account is meant for one person — please don't share it.
3. What Finchly gives you
Every account starts on the Free plan, which includes:
- Chatting with Finchly — 30 replies a day. The count resets at midnight Philippine time and unused replies don't carry over.
- Notes, including scanning notes with your camera.
- Tasks, reminders, and the class schedule with class reminders.
- Google Classroom subjects, coursework, deadlines, and teacher announcements.
- Tuition installment tracking with payment reminders.
- The AI Planner tab, which builds your day plan on the device.
Pro adds unlimited chat, Finchly Tutor, and the AI Teacher chat that reads PDFs and photos of lessons.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Pro is sold as a fixed access period and paid inside the app through QR Ph (handled by our payment processor, PayMongo):
- 1 Month — ₱149
- 3 Months — ₱350
Nothing renews automatically and we never store your card or e-wallet details. Paying extends your access date; when the period lapses the account simply returns to the Free plan. Prices may change, but a period you have already paid for is never affected.
Payments are generally final once the access period has started. If a payment is charged but your Pro access doesn't activate, contact us and we will fix it or refund the charge.
5. AI features have limits
Finchly's explanations, summaries, study plans, and flashcards are generated by AI. They can be incomplete or plainly wrong, so treat them as study help — not as verified answers, and never as professional, medical, legal, or financial advice. Always check anything important against your own course materials.
You are responsible for following your school's rules on academic honesty. Don't submit AI output as your own work where that isn't allowed.
6. Your content
Your notes, uploaded PDFs, schedules, and messages stay yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the app: to store that content, and to process it so features like summarising, search, and the tutor can work. Some of that processing happens on AI services we use as providers.
Only upload material you have the right to use. You can delete your content in the app, and you can ask us to delete your account.
7. Connected services and device permissions
When you link Google Classroom, Finchly reads your classes, coursework, and announcements so it can show them and remind you about deadlines. You can disconnect it at any time. Google's own terms apply to your Google account.
Some features ask for device permissions — notifications for reminders, the camera for scanning notes, location for the weather theme, and the accessibility service that Focus mode uses to block distracting apps while a session is running. Each one is optional, only used for the feature it belongs to, and can be turned off in your device settings.
8. Fair use
Please don't:
- Break the law, harass anyone, or upload harmful or infringing material.
- Try to get around usage limits, resell access, or automate abusive traffic against our servers.
- Reverse-engineer, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to Finchly or the accounts of other students.
We may suspend or close accounts that do these things, or that leave a payment unresolved.
9. Availability and changes
We improve Finchly continuously, so features may be added, changed, or removed, and the service may be unavailable during maintenance or for reasons outside our control. We aim to give notice of significant changes that affect a paid plan.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Finchly and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken. When an account ends, the content in it may be deleted, so keep your own copies of anything you want to keep.
11. Disclaimers and liability
Finchly is provided “as is”. We don't promise it will be error-free, always available, or that its AI output will be accurate, and we don't guarantee any particular academic result.
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss — including lost grades, missed deadlines, or lost data — and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here removes rights you have under Philippine consumer law.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, and disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the courts there.
13. Updates to these terms
We may update these terms as Finchly changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and continuing to use the app means you accept the updated version.
